About Mia
Mia has been involved with music her whole life. She started studying piano at the age of 5 with a Hungarian Piano teacher in Wilton, Connecticut. She performed in numerous recitals, festivals, and competitions throughout her childhood studies. She won the Concerto Competition at age 16, and performed with The Norwalk Symphony. Mia went on to study her Undergraduate Program in Piano Performance and Music Education at Oberlin Conservatory, and University of Colorado. Her Graduate studies were in Voice and Choral Music
at Loyola University. Mia went on to teach in various schools for the next 10 years in General Music, Music Theory, Choral Directing, and Musical Theater. Mia comes from a very muscial family. Her grand mother Violetta de Strozzi, was a famous opera singer in Berlin in the 20's, and her mother sang on stage for many years. Her grand father Tito de Strozzi, was a famous playwright and actor in Zagreb, Croatia. Mia has performed in both piano and voice in numerous venues throughout Fairfield County. She is presently a member of Camerata d'Amici, a renowned choral group in South Salem, New York where she performs in the group, as well as performing solos. |
About the Studio
Herstatt Studio is a nurturing environment with progressive studies in Piano and Voice.
It combines many components of music, creating a well- rounded student. The Piano Studies include Technique, warm-ups, music theory/concepts, interpretation, improvisation, expression, reading and performance repertoire.
The Vocal Studies include vocal technique, vowel production and placement, breathing, posture, expression, interpretation, improvisation, reading and performance repertoire. The Studio has Video Production to use as a tool for the Student's development. There is a Study Recital and Two Formal Recitals during the School Year. |
